Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of members of The Law Association Inc., will be held on Thursday, 7 March 2024, at 5.30 pm (NZ time), at the offices of Link Market Services, Level 30, PwC Tower, 15 Customs Street West, Auckland.
ITEMS OF BUSINESS
- Annual Report on The Law Association Inc., (will be available on The Law Association website prior to the AGM)
- Confirmation of President and Council Members for 2024-2025.
- Approval of 2023 AGM minutes
- Notices of motion
- General business
Any member intending to submit a notice of motion is referred to the timing and other requirements in Rules 9 and 21.4.
Members and proxy holders entitled to attend and vote at the AGM will be able to attend the AGM in person or participate in the AGM virtually via an online platform provided by Link Market Services.
Members attending and participating via the online platform will be able to vote and ask questions during the AGM.
Members will be sent the link to the meeting and a member number prior to the AGM to enable online participation.
FINAL CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
Nominations for the office of President and elected Councillor (for the latter of which there are three vacancies) must be in writing, signed by two members being Lawyer Members or Qualified Members, with the consent of the nominee endorsed, and be sent for the attention of the Chief Executive Officer via email at CEO@thelawassociation.nz. Nominations should be received by email, by 5.00 pm on Thursday, 8 February 2024.
APPOINTING A PROXY TO VOTE AT THE AGM
A Member who is entitled to attend and vote at the meeting has the right to appoint a proxy to attend and vote instead of the Member. Download a Proxy Form here. Proxies must be delivered to the CEO by email at CEO@thelawassociation.nz by Tuesday 5 March 2024.
